ResiDex Global Service List

The Global Job (Service) List is the foundation for building a resident service plan.  This is the master (shared between all campuses in your database) list of services.  We will outline how to:

  • Access the Global Job (Service) List
  • View individuals with a specific service scheduled
  • Edit the service name
  • Create a new service
  • Edit the Service Details
  • Inactivate/Activate a service

ResiDex Services: "Plan"

Assigning services such as bathing or laundry can pose challenges.  What days of the week might be best--based upon other bathing or laundry services scheduled campus-wide?  What provider might have time on any given day?  The Residex "Plan" feature allows easy access to campus-wide assignments that makes balancing workloads that much easier!

ResiDex Service Entry: Mass Add

If you need to enter many services for a resident all at the same time (for instance, when entering a new resident's service plan for the first time), Mass Service Entry will allow you to do so quickly and efficiently.

Note: The list of available services  pulls from the "Global Service List" in each database.  You may edit the Global Service List, but we recommend doing so with caution; editing the name of a service that is in use will change the service name for all campuses using that service in the shared database.

Configuring Providers

Each campus providing cares to residents will need to divide up each day's workload into manageable blocks that can be assigned to either to a team, or an individual caregiver. In RTasks, we call these teams/ individuals "Providers."

Campuses can have their own configuration for Providers - a small setting may just have AM, PM, NOC providers and no others. A larger facility may break down providers by location, and have multiple providers operating at the same time (Assisted Living AM 1, Assisted Living AM 2, Memory Care AM 1, etc).  These Providers are configured for each individual location to meet that location's needs.

Service - Require Value

The Global Job (Service) List is the foundation for building a resident service plan.  This is the master list of services shared by all campuses in your database.

Certain services require staff to enter a value as they chart a service complete. Examples include vital signs, resident weights, blood glucose values, # of loads of laundry.  These services can be configured to require a value be entered and (in the case of clinical values) allow those values to be viewed in RTasks and reports as vital signs.

ResiDex 'Service Set' Setup

When entering services for a resident, we offer flexible options to streamline the process.  You can:

  • Enter one service at a time using our Service Entry - Basic option in either desktop Residex or RTasks
  • Use the Service Entry - Mass Add option to add many services for a resident all at once (in desktop Residex)
  • Use our Service Set option to add a preset group of services and assign them to the same provider for the same day and time (available in desktop Residex).  This is useful for entering a group of vitals scheduled weekly or monthly.

We will explain what you need to do to setup Service Sets.

Agreement: MD Orders

Minnesota regulations  specify the frequency with which the MD must review and/or recertify the orders for home care clients. Other states may have a similar requirement, OR the nurse may consider it a best practice to have periodic MD comprehensive review of orders.  The MD Orders feature in desktop ResiDex allows the nurse to create a comprehensive document for the MD to review or certify for a set period of time.  Nurses may elect to include this information on the Resident Agreement or Service Plan.

Assessment-Service Consistency

ResiDex can be configured so changes to a resident service plan will not be allowed until a corresponding assessment item has been updated for that resident.  This has the effect of ensuring your residents' service plans are always consistent with their assessments.

Home Care vs. Housing Services

ResiDex will allow you to specify what services are homecare services or housing services.  Editing the "type" of service will impact Which residents display on the Client Roster report and how services are grouped on the Service screen and several reports.

Reassign a Service

As you work through setting up your Global Job (Service) List, you may wish to allow some services to be "re-assigned".  To reassign services means to temporarily reschedule that service from one day and time to another.  When designating a service as reassignable, you may limit how far out that service may be reassigned.

For example:  A weekly housekeeping service is scheduled for an individual on Tuesday at 9:00 am.  On Tuesday, that service shows up on the care giver's schedule but for one reason or another, the staff is unable to perform that service as scheduled.  If the service is tagged as "May Reassign", the caregiver may reassign it to another day that week.

Note: You typically would not want to allow services that are scheduled daily (or more often) to be reassigned.

Require Note for All Unscheduled Services

ResiDex has the ability to require a note when marking scheduled services complete.  We also have the ability to require a note on all unscheduled visits.

Reschedule Multiple Services

Users may need to reschedule services for a resident to a different time and/or provider.  This may be due to a move or change in scheduling structure.  Our "Reschedule" option will allow you to do so easily and efficiently.

Instead of editing services individually, the reschedule option will allow you to select a group of services scheduled for the same time to a different time and/or provider.

ResiDex Global Job (Service) List - Appointment

Tracking appointments is an important aspect of caring for residents.  Appointments can be easily and most completely documented and tracked using the Referral Appointments feature in ResiDex and RTasks.    This article details an alternate way to track appointments, based upon services created in the Global Job (Service) List.   Putting a service in the category "appointment reminder" will allow you to manually add services that will trigger an appointment reminder.

Service Charting Options

When you prepare to do electronic charting, you must decide what you are going to chart, and make sure you have a solid foundation from the beginning. Without a solid foundation, charting will be inefficient and will cause frustration for the caregivers.

Service Schedule Reminders

The "Reminder" option creates a reminder that will sort to the top of a schedule (Daily Assignment sheets or Today screen).
