Referrals

Document reasons for clinic appointments, current medications for unscheduled clinic visits, capturing new orders from a doctor, and more by using Referrals in ResiDex.

How to Enter a Referral

Start at the Resident Profile "Option List" (the white box at the bottom of the Resident Profile Screen).

  • Select "Referral"
  • Press the New Button or Control + N on your keyboard
  • Enter the Referral Date or Edit the Date
  • Select the Provider
  • Select the Type
  • Enter text in the "Reason and Notes" field (optional)
  • Press Save

You will automatically be prompted to print the referral.  If you wish to print the referral, press "OK"

Printing a Referral

  • Click on the Referral
  • Check or un-check the "Show Meds" box on the referral
  • Select a report from the "Snap Report" option list

Keep in Mind:

  • After clicking on a referral in the list, you may find the date a referral was created by pressing F6
  • You may only print the most recently created referral. (Not the referral with the date furthest in the future)
  • The medications on the report are the CURRENT medications as of the "Printed Date" NOT THE REFERRAL DATE
  • To print a referral that was created earlier, delete any referrals that were created AFTER that one was entered

After creating a new Referral, you can generate the Clinic Referral Report. This report includes:

  • Resident’s Allergies
  • Resident’s Diagnoses
  • Current Medications (optional)
  • Reason for Referral (optional)
  • Nurse’s Signature Line
  • Customized areas for the Provider to enter notes
  • Provider information
