Medication List

ResiDex comes with a pre-loaded database of Trade Name medications associated with Generic medications. As you use the medications and forms, you must verify the accuracy of these medications. If a medication is not listed, you will need to add it to the list.

How the Medication Lists Work:

Each medication listed is required to be associated with a generic medication.  Some facilities have taken the approach to add the generic medication to the "Global Medication list" and associate it with the generic medication from the "Global Generic Medication List". Other facilities have chosen to use the "trade name" that is associated with the generic medication.  Whatever your approach, you will inevitably need to add a medication to the list.

Note: To add a medication to the "Global Medication List", a user must have Staff Role #9 Meds and Diagnoses

To Add a Medication from the Med Screen:

Go to the Resident Medication Screen

  • Click New
  • Verify the Medication is NOT in the list
  • Clear the med name field and click the "+" button
  • Enter the Medication's name
  • Associate the medication with a generic by:
  • Press Save to close the window
  • Continue adding the medication details

Please Note: If you use the "Add Generic of the Same Name", the generic name will fill in with the medication name you entered.  You will not see the field to enter the "usage" and "side effects", however, these will fill in with a period as a place holder.  If you would like to edit the usage and side effects, you can refer to the document "Medication Names and Details".
