Snap Messages

Snap messages are used to send internal information to other ResiDex users on your staff.

To turn on Snap Messages:

1. Go to the Setup Tab and click on "Global Setup and Install" from the Select Category box.

2. Select "General Application Configuration" from the Select Option box.

3. To unlock the screen for changes to be made, click in the blank space above the word "Value".

4. Find the Item, "Messenger", and replace the "No" by typing "Yes" in the Value column.

5. Close out of the configuration screen.  You will need to log out of ResiDex and log back in to update your database with the Snap Messages feature.

To Use Snap Messages:

1. The Snap Messages feature is located on the tool bar at the top of the ResiDex screen, next to Help.

2. Click on the down arrow and you will see a list of staff members as well as groups of users.

3. Click on the person or group of people you want to send a message to.

4. A pop-up box will appear where you can enter the Subject and Text of your message.  After you have finished typing in your message, click on "Send Message" (or "cancel" if you decided not to send a message).

5. When the recipients of the message log into ResiDex, they will see a pop-up on their screen saying they have a message and asking if they would like to view it.  When they click on "ok", they will be able to read the message.  If they click on "no", the message will continue to pop up while they are in ResiDex until they do read it.

6. You can see who has read your message and who has not by going to the Snap Messages menu and choosing "My Messages".  You can view Incoming - Unread, Incoming - Read, Outgoing - Unread, or Outgoing - Read messages.
