Service Scheduling
Service scheduling in ResiDex is key to providing clear communication to staff of the residents' required services. The scheduling is flexible yet detailed so Resident needs can be communicated clearly.
Basic Features
Service scheduling has a number of features to make it fast, easy and relevant including:
- Specific or simplified times
- Reminders
- Discontinue and restart
- Service Sets
- Require a "value" on recap (e.g.: Blood pressure, Pulse, Number of Laundry loads)
- Various Output options
Specific/Simplified Times - Services can be scheduled using specific times (ex. 8:00 a.m.) or by choosing a simplified time (ex. a.m.). Specific times can be typed into the "Time" field or you can choose from the option list that includes AM, PM, Overnight, To Schedule, or Reminder. ResiDex allows flexibility in the times so that you can use a combination of specific and simplified times in the same schedule.
Reminders - You can choose to designate a specific service as a "reminder" instead of an actual performing of the service. This works well in group home situations when caregivers are guiding their clients rather than actually performing the service for them. The Reminder option is "turned on" in the Setup tab and shows as an option in the "Time" field. Reminders appear on the assignment sheets and Today screen at the top of the list before the scheduled services.
Discontinue/Restart - You can discontinue and restart a service by clicking on the button to the right of the service setup on the resident services screen. This feature allows you to stop a current service and change to another service with fewer "steps". Simply choose the new service from your service list, modify the date if needed, and choose the provider. This will automatically discontinue the previous service and schedule the new service. You will need to adjust the time and the days.
Output Options
Provider Sheets - Assignments sheets are typically used by our clients as a way to inform their caregivers of their duties for each day. There are 2 types: daily and shift. The daily assignment sheets are sorted by time and the shift assignment sheets are sorted by unit or room number. These are "to-do" lists that can be printed before each shift so that they have the most accurate information.
Resident Charts - For a facility that is using paper based approach to charting, there are numerous resident charts that can be printed from ResiDex, from monthly to 2 weeks to 1 week. These charts provide a way for your caregivers to indicate with their initials that they have completed each task.
Appointment Books - Appointments can be scheduled from the Provider tab in ResiDex. For each provider/shift, you have the opportunity to use the "Appt" button to schedule resident appointments. In the appointment grid, click on a time slot and fill in the information in the pop-up box. This information includes resident name, provider, time of appointment, date, and special task instructions. Once you save this, you can see the appointment in the resident's service plan as a one-time service, and you can also print off an appointment calendar.
