E-Chart Unscheduled Services

How to use the ResiDex Today Screen to electronically chart unscheduled services.

If you performed a service that was not listed on your Today screen, it is considered an "unscheduled" visit. This could be an "As Needed" blood sugar check, unscheduled toileting, an assist for an emergency call, or any number of other services. By recording the unscheduled visit, you will capture the actual amount of time each resident requires. This is particularly useful in Fee For Service billing, so you can be sure you bill for every service you provide but even if Fee For Service billing isn’t an issue for you, it is also important to record every service you provide.

Recording an Unscheduled Service

Note: to perform this feature, a user must have Staff Role #8 - Touch Recap

  • Start at the Today Screen
  • Select a Provider
  • Click "Unscheduled Service" at the bottom left of the screen
  • If the time is not correct - enter the correct time
  • Select the Resident from the "Resident" drop down list
  • Select the service from the "Service" drop down list
  • If the Service requires a value (ie, record vitals signs, blood glucose, etc), an appropriate value field will appear under the service. Enter the value in the field.
  • Enter the number of minutes it took to provide the service
  • Optionally add a note Press Save
