Managing your residents' diagnoses information in ResiDex

Note: To add a diagnosis, a staff member must have user role #9 Meds and Diagnosis

ResiDex comes pre-loaded with a list of common diagnoses. If a particular diagnosis is not already available in the Diagnoses List, you can add it by following the steps below.  Keep in mind, you don't want to add a "resident specific" diagnosis.  For example, if a resident has a "History of Seizures", you do NOT want to add a diagnosis such as "History of Seizures - Last occurrence April 2008".  You can add "History of Seizures" but the "Last occurrence April 2008" would go in the Diagnosis Note field for that resident.

Search for a Diagnoses by Name:

  • In the diagnoses screen click on a blank diagnosis line
  • Start typing the name of the diagnosis

This will simply look for the diagnosis that begins with the letters that you typed.

Search by Using Filter:

This feature is helpful if you are not sure how the diagnosis was entered into ResiDex (for example: Fractured Hip or Hip Fracture).

  • In the diagnoses screen - make sure you have ONE blank line and double click on it
  • When the Filter screen appears - type a word  in the "Filter" field

This will pull all diagnoses that contain that word or letters you typed.  (Example: "Hip" will display: Hip Fracture, Hip Replacement, Fractured Hip, etc.)

To Select a Diagnosis:

  • Search or Filter for the diagnosis
  • Click the diagnoses or press "Select"
