Chores & Tasks

Chores and Tasks show up on the Today screen in addition to services. In this tutorial, we will look at the differences between Chores, Tasks and Services in ResiDex, as well as how to assign and recap Chores and Tasks.

Services vs Chores Vs Tasks

Services

Any service that you provide for a resident, from escorts, to med assists to any cares you may provide.

Chores

Chores are  duties that must be preformed on a regular schedule, but not provided for a specific resident. For instance, chores can typically include general housekeeping, cleaning, general safety checks, transport, and other tasks non-specific to an individual resident. Chores are assigned to a Provider, and can be marked done by anyone charting for the provider a Chore is assigned to.

Tasks

Tasks are similar to services and chores, but are assigned to an individual staff member instead of a provider; the task is for that individual alone to do. Tasks can be (but are not required to be) associated with a resident or a contact. Tasks are usually non-repeating duties that must be done, such as calling a resident’s family for some reason, billing issue follow ups, marketing follow ups, administrative duties etc.

How to  Assign a Chore

To assign a Chore, go to the Providers tab in ResiDex.

  • Press the “Chores” button next to the provider that will be performing the Chore
  • Select a type
  • Enter a description, and an estimate of how long this chore will take to perform
  • Schedule the Chore, and add a start date. You’re done!

How to Recap a Chore

  • Go to the Today Screen, switch tot he Provider assigned to the Chore you wish to recap
  • Click on the chore
  • Select the number of minutes it actually took to perform the Chore (this can be optionally turned off in your ResiDex setup)
  • Record any notes, if relevant
  • Mark Done

How to Turn On the “New Task” Button

If you don’t have a “New Task” Button on your Home screen in ResiDex, you can turn it on by:

  • Going to the Setup Tab, Selecting “Campus” from the menu on the left,
  • Select “Campus Configuration” from the menu on the right
  • In the Campus Configuration screen, select “Tasks” in the “Category” drop-down menu
  • Change “ Home Screen - Show ‘New Task’ Button to YES; now go back to the Home tab and you will have a “New Task” button

How to Assign a New Task

  • Press the New Task button on your Home Screen.
  • Enter a name and details for the task
  • Enter the date & time the task needs to be done by
  • Enter the Type of Task
  • Enter the Staff member responsible for completing the Task;
  • Enter a resident or a contact relevant to the Task, if you wish.
  • Mark the task “To Do” if it hasn't been done yet, or “Done” if you are recording a completed task

How to Recap a Task

A Task will only show up on the Today Screen if you are logged in as the person who the task is assigned to.

  • Go to the Today Screen
  • Click on the Task
  • Record any notes, if relevant
  • Mark Done
