E-Chart As Needed Meds

Note: to perform this feature, a user must have Staff Role # 8, Touch Recap

How to Recap an As Needed Medication

Click the  Today Tab

• Choose a provider (if you did not specify when logging in)
• At the bottom of the screen click the "As Needed Med" Button
• Select the Resident from the "Resident" drop-down list
• Select the As Needed Medication from the "Medication" drop-down list. If the Resident hasn't been perscribed any As Needed Medications, the Medication List will be empty.
• After Selecting the Medication, a new window will open;
  On the Right hand side of the new window, you will see a history of providing this As Needed Medication> You can see if the medication has been provided recently, and between that and the special instructions, you can determine if if more time needs to pass between doses.
• Enter the Assist Time (Press the "Assist Time" Button to enter the exact current time)
• Enter the Dose Provided (Press the "Dose Provided" Button do enter the perscribed dose
• Enter the Reason (Press the "Reason" Button to enter the default reason for providing the medication)
