ResiDex Hosting requirements for computers with Windows XP
Technical Requirements
- ResiDex Hosting clients must have a high speed internet connection for hosting to be an appropriate.
- Windows XP computers must have at least 1 GB of RAM, however we highly recommend 2GB of RAM or more.
- Windows XP Service Pack 3 is required. We highly recommend turning on Windows Updates so your local Windows is regularly updated. We recommend installing all available Windows updates
To See if Remote Desktop 7.1 is installed already:
- Go to the Start menu, select "All Programs" > "Accessories" > Remote Desktop Connection
- In the upper left hand of Remote Desktop there is an icon - if you click this it drops down a menu. Select "About" from this menu. This will open a new window that will say Shell Version and Control Version numbers. If the bottom number is "Remote Desktop Protocol 7.0" (or higher), then Microsoft Remote Desktop 7.1 is installed and you can move on. If not, then you want to Download and install Windows Remote Desktop 7.1.
Microsoft .Net Framework 3.5.1
To See if you have Microsoft .Net Framework 3.5.1 Installed Already:
- Go to the Start menu > "Control Panel, and navigate to your installed programs (either "Add or Remove Programs", or "Programs and Features.")
- If Microsoft .Net Framework 3.5 SP 1 is in this list, then you are up to date. If it is not in the list, you need to download, install, then restart your computer.
